Money Mastery – Go from Ordinary to Extraordinary in 2014

If you’re okay with 2014 being just another humdrum, run-of-the-mill year for your business than this article probably won’t interest you…

Because I want to take a look at what you need to do to make 2014 truly extraordinary. A few years ago I made the commitment to take my business to the next level and I have since exceeded my business goals every single year. The key shift I made was instead of allowing the economy or other external factors dictate my success, I was committed to getting myself extraordinary results through money mastery.

Take a look at the following money truths that I’ve discovered that will help you get extraordinary results:

#1 Your business is a reflection of your thoughts.

I know you’ve heard the Law of Attraction that what you think about comes about. It’s true. What we focus on expands. What you put out into the universe is what you attract. If you have a positive attitude, high integrity and you truly want to help more people, you will attract clients and customers who have that same energy.

Our thoughts are like a magnet. So you need to remember that your subconscious doesn’t know the difference between reality and non-reality. It focuses and reacts to what you continue to think about all day long. Today believe it or not, your business is a reflection of your own thoughts. What are you thinking about right now in your business for 2014?

#2 You need to pick the “low hanging fruit” first.

I love this concept and it works! We always think we have to create new money – but you have money opportunities right in front of you. These show up as “Low Hanging Fruit”. I use this metaphor because it is the easiest and simplest opportunities that are available to you right now that require little effort.

For example, who has expressed an interest in learning more about your services? Is there someone you met at a networking event that inquired about your services but hasn’t become a paying client yet? Brainstorm about some opportunities that have come your way but you haven’t acted on yet. Put them on the top of your list for 2014.

#3 What you track grows.

When I left my corporate job I began to track everything I made, every client I worked with and every marketing tactic I tried. Why? Because that’s what I did as a senior level executive at Macy’s. You have to know where you are in every business.

When you track your income and clients you are clear about what revenue is coming in from the various strategies you have in place. Just like the Fortune 100 businesses track their business. If you are ever going to play a bigger game you must know your analytics. That way you can keep doing what’s working or adjust your efforts if you aren’t getting the right kind of results.

#4 Small efforts multiply into big results.

I love this old story… Would you rather have a million dollars or a penny doubled everyday for thirty days? Most people would say, “I’ll take the million dollars!” But with the multiplier effect in action the penny doubled gets you to $5.3 million!

The point is that if you apply the right multiplier effect in your business and daily increase your marketing efforts your revenues will multiply too! This demonstrates how small efforts daily will get you great long-term results.

How can you put the multiplier effect to work in your marketing? Think about marketing and sales strategies you can implement that might not seem big, like increasing your fees by 5% or landing one new client a month, but that over time will multiply!

#5 Double down goals get you there faster.

Since business revenues are created in the mind first, nothing can get you there faster than a double or nothing mentality. It creates the positive energy that brings extraordinary results closer to you.

Try setting two kinds of goals this year. One is realistic, but a bit of a stretch, that you really want to achieve. Then double it! That’s right, if you want to reach $250,000 in your business, then you need to think with a double-down mindset and start thinking about a half-million-dollar business. This double-down mindset goal will take you further by setting the bar a little higher. If it doesn’t happen year one, then you are still on your way to building a half-million-dollar business year two. I know it sounds scary, but it works!
