Convert Fear and Risk into Profit and Reward

Let’s face it, until you change directions you’re never going to arrive at a different destination. Unless you press down on the accelerator you’re never going to travel in the fast lane. To be a successful entrepreneur you have to overcome your reluctance and take the leap. As a matter of fact, the French word “entreprenant” means “bold, adventurous, and enterprising.” I want you to embrace those three important traits because that is how you will make your business boom.

Smart Moves versus Whimsical Bets

Don’t take risky bets on a whim. I would never advise that. What I do want is for you to feel how exhilarating it is to be fearless about leveraging your business to the next level. I’ve seen many people multiply their income by simply adding an assistant, ramping up their online marketing, or upgrading their systems and technology. You have to break out of the inertia holding you back or else you’ll never know what waits for you around the next curve. I took a gigantic leap last year – during a terrible economy – but wound up tripling my revenues. To play in the big leagues you have to step up to the plate. You’ve practiced and studied the playbook long enough – now get out there and win!

Vision Plus Action Makes Dreams Happen

When online retail giant Amazon was still a small, struggling company the owners took a calculated risk. They invested in a much bigger infrastructure than they actually needed at the time. Instead of shying away from huge success they envisioned it as an imminent reality and prepared for it. What if they hadn’t done that? They would have been victimized by their own unmanageable growth. They would have gone under moments before achieving legendary entrepreneurial success. That’s why I want you to expand your horizons and commit to building a business that can accommodate your entire big-picture vision.

Recognize the Greater Risk

But you don’t have to jump in headfirst and invest oodles of cash. Start small and keep tweaking your formula as you experiment and learn. Test the water. Try out products and marketing campaigns on your ideal target audience. Then go bigger as you get results. Never stop pushing the boundaries, though, because that’s how you break through to higher ground and robust income. We live in a time when businesses have to constantly scale-up. Maintain a HEALTHY FEAR of DOING NOTHING.

Start Living Your Dream

Innovate. Grow. Venture beyond your comfort zone. Remember that stagnation is the most dangerous and expensive risk of all. After deciding to launch my own consulting company I hesitated for a few years because I was afraid to give up a great Fortune 100 career. That delay cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and I’m still kicking myself for letting fear put my success on hold. Don’t waste time. Don’t dwell on where you want to be when you could instead start experiencing what it’s like to be there now.

Visualize the Success

Most entrepreneurs play small and act timid, and they get small, timid results. I want you to visualize the success that will come to you once you break through those mental or emotional barriers and go beyond your status quo. What will you gain? More income, a full pipeline of ideal clients, greater visibility – you name it! Picture the results. Then go for it with the confidence that triggers explosive entrepreneurial success.
